Napster

Napster has named former Roblox global head of music Jon Vlassopulos CEO and launched Napster Ventures, “which will focus on fostering, investing in, and acquiring the best Web3 music startups.”

Believe

Believe has made four leadership appointments in Southeast Asia: former UMG higher-up Antoine El Iman has been promoted to MD of Southeast Asia and Australia/New Zealand, four-year Believe team member Dahlia Wijaya is now country director for Indonesia, Georgette Tengco (previously with Tencent Music) is officially country director for the Philippines, and Somwalee Limrachtamorn (a longtime Nielsen exec) has come aboard as country director for Thailand.

StubHub International

StubHub International has tapped former Photobox head Dan Mucha to serve as CEO.

Sentric Music Group/Utopia Music

Utopia’s Sentric Music has hired four A&R directors in the US: Academy Fight Songs co-owner Matt DuFour (“covering the Midwest from Chicago”), HITMUSIC 21 Productions co-founder Carlos Escalona Cruz (“covering the US based Latin market and LATAM”), former Gas Music Group A&R exec Kebu Commissiong (“covering the South East from Atlanta”), and ReverbNation co-founder Lou Plaia (“covering the East Coast from New York”).

Warner Music Brazil + Warner Music UK

Leila Oliveira, who joined WMG in 2013, is set to start as president of Warner Music Brazil on October 28th. Meanwhile, longtime Warner Brazil president Sérgio Affonso is departing “to launch his own independent label, which will be distributed by Warner Music.”

Additionally, more than 15-year Warner UK attorney Charlotte Saxe has been promoted to SVP of legal and business affairs and is expected to begin in the position on October 3rd.

Propeller

Propeller, a self-described “digital platform that unites social activism, charitable efforts and impactful marketing campaigns in the music space,” has brought on former Warner Music and ICM Partners higher-up Annie Flook as director of artist partnerships and business development.

Universal Music Publishing Group

UMPG has upped Pete Simmons, who joined the company in 2014, to head of A&R for the UK.

Downtown Music Holdings

Downtown Music Holdings has rolled out a new global services division, Downtown Music, and tapped FUGA CEO Pieter van Rijn to serve as president.

KCRW

KCRW has enlisted Gina Delvac, previously the head of Spotify’s Studio 4, to spearhead the rollout of the Podcast Audience Lab. Plus, 14-year NPR vet Arnie Seipel has signed on to lead KCRW’s news offerings.

UnitedMasters

UnitedMasters has hired Pablo Jablonski (formerly with Twitter) as head of engineering, Nicole Keller (who joined from Adobe’s Frame.io) as chief people officer, Andre Howard (formerly WMG’s VP of digital marketing and commerce) as head of commerce, Meg Donovan (previously an Uber marketing exec) as head of marketing, Matt Wing (formerly Uber’s head of work communications) as head of communications, and Damien Scott (who used to be president of Dreamville) as head of brand strategy and editorial.

YouTube chief business officer Robert Kyncl is expected to succeed Stephen Cooper as Warner Music CEO on February 1st, 2023.
