Kamaiyah To Pay Fine After Pleading Guilty To Airport Disturbance

Windsor Locks, CT – Kamaiyah has pleaded guilty to creating a public disturbance at Connecticut’s Bradley International Airport in May.

According to the Hartford Courant and FOX 61, she has agreed to pay a $50 fine and write an apology letter to the state troopers involved in the incident.

Police had to intervene when Kamaiyah refused to remove a head cover that set f TSA’s alarm on May 11. State police said she went into a vulgar rant directed at the troopers and TSA agents before being asked to leave.

After refusing to leave, she was arrested for misdemeanor breach peace and interfering with police.

Kamaiyah had a few choice words for the media following her arrest at Connecticut’s Bradley International Airport on Friday (May 11). After posting bail, the Bay Area rapper hit Instagram to address the incident.

“Fuck the media trying to paint me as a angry black woman like I’m not out here constantly giving to the youth,” she captioned the photo. “as least y’all all learned one thing today black women don’t play about their bonnets #OutOnBail #4hunnid.”

The local news outlet WFSB described the 26-year-old as “irate” and “aggressive.”

In her Instagram Story later that night, Kamaiyah shared a text exchange with her mother, laughing f the entire situation.

Kamaiyah was taken into custody early Friday morning after she refused to take f her head gear during a security checkpoint. She reportedly used “vulgar language” toward the TSA agents and a trooper on the scene.

She soon posted bail and was told she’d have to appear in Enfield Superior Court on June 6 when she’ll faces charges interfering with police and second-degree breach peace.

She reportedly became irate after TSA agents asked her to remove her head cover so they could inspect it but she refused to take f the item. WFSB reports she used “vulgar language” toward the TSA agents and a trooper who was on the scene.

She was eventually handcuffed and escorted out the airport.

The 26-year-old is facing charges interfering with police and second-degree breach peace.

Her bond was set at $5,000, which she posted.

The Before I Wake artist is expected in Enfield Superior Court on June 6.
