Joel Embiid Breaks Down In Tears Following Game 7 Loss

“I can’t explain it. It just sucks.”

Joel Embiid was reduced to tears on Sunday night as Kawhi Leonard delivered an unforgettable, series-winning baseline jumper over the All Star center as time expired in Game 7.

“Losing the game that way,” Embiid said when asked about his show emotion, per ESPN. “Last shot. After a hard-fought game, I feel like we had a chance. A lot things go through your mind. And it sucks. I don’t know. I can’t explain it. It just sucks.”

In regards to his brief, post-game conversation with Raptors’ veteran Marc Gasol, Embiid told reporters:

“He was just telling me … tried to let me know that I’ll be right there at this moment and even further in my career,” Embiid said.

The 25-year old center, who finished with 21 points, 11 rebounds and four assists in the Game 7 defeat, was also asked where “The Process” stands now, and how tired he was after playing nearly the full 48 minutes last night. His response, “I don’t give a damn about ‘The Process. And no, I’m not tired.”
