Happy Birthday, King Los!

Today, March 23, is the 36th birthday Baltimore rapper King Los.

Born Carlos Coleman in Baltimore, King Los' music career started in another creative discipline. At the age 16, he wrote poetry and other works to deal with the pain his father's murder. By age 18, he was rapping and battling around Baltimore. Fresh after his 2002 high school graduation, Los auditioned for Diddy's famous reality show, Making The Band 2. He was chosen, but due to his refusal to sign any paperwork, he never actually appeared on the show. He ended up signed to Bad Boy Records in 2005, but lost his deal because the label he was signed through folded in 2008.

Now fully independent, he dropped a flurry mixtapes, starting with 2008's Guilty Until Proven Innocent. His 2011 tape The Crown Ain't Safe was met with positive reviews, and  lead to Diddy signing Los to Bad Boy outright in 2012. He then dropped his first Bad Boy mixtape, Crowning The King in 2013. King Los was featured on the biggest song in his career that year, "Ocho Cinco," a Bad Boy posse cut featuring Machine Gun Kelly, French Montana, Red Cafe and Diddy himself.

He left Bad Boy in 2014, soon after the release his mixtape Zero Gravity II. After signing a new deal with RCA Records, he released his debut album God Money War in 2015. With all his freestyles and loosies, his most recent work is his late 2017 mixtape Moor Bars.

Happy birthday, King Los!
