Freddie Gibbs Partners With Warner, Confirms New Album

Following the release the Alchemist-produced “Alfredo,” Freddie Gibbs announces a new partnership with Warner Records.

In the rap game, it’s not easy to keep up a steady release output while maintaining a level consistent quality. Yet Freddie Gibbs, arguably among the best lyricists today, has made a science it. Within the past three years, he has delivered You Only Live 2wice, Freddie, Bandana, and his most recent project Alfredo, produced entirely by The Alchemist. Now, it would appear that Gibbs is gearing up to continue his run, ficially announcing a newfound partnership with Warner Music.

I’m really looking forward to partnering with Warner and working with Aaron Bay-Schuck, CEO Warner],” states Freddie, speaking in an ficial press release. “He’s a young progressive label head I can openly share ideas with. It was love and respect from the first meeting and always felt right. We’re working together to take everything to another level for my day one fans as well as the people just now discovering me.”

The announcement also confirms that Freddie Gibbs is already working on his Alfredo project, promising that his first Warner release will be revealed “very soon.” It’s certainly a big move for Gibbs; while respected by nearly every emcee worth a damn, he has seldom earned the mainstream appreciation he deserves. Perhaps teaming with Warner will help elevate his stature, as appears to be their intention. “Teaming up with Warner] puts us in a strong position to build upon the work we’ve been putting in independently over the past decade or so,” says Freddie’s manager Ben “Lambo” Lambert. “We’re excited for the next chapter in our journey.”

Congratulations to Freddie Gibbs for making major moves, all while keeping the quality strong. Here’s to another new album from the brilliant mind behind Alfredo.
