The rap world continues showing love to Fredo Santana, who died last Friday (Jan. 19) after suffering a seizure. The latest to commemorate the legacy the Chicago rapper is none other than Fat Trel, who paid the ultimate compliment by getting Fredo's likeness tattooed onto his leg.
Trel showcased the new ink on Instagram. "BIG BOSS F R E D O !!! RIP BRODEY, LOVE YU NIGGA @fredosantanassr #WALKINGLEGEND ???BY @tattedtone," he wrote in the caption for the post.
If you didn't know, Trel and Fredo had been friends and collaborators for several years, with tracks going back as far as 2012. Trel was understandably broken up when Fredo passed away last week. Fredo was trying to kick a lean addiction in the months preceding his death.
Recently, Fredo's father, commonly referred to as Big Shug, used his Instagram account to share some the tragic moments he experienced after the death his son. "I don't know where to begin,I'm a father 6,not the best father in the world but i have Always been there," he began in one post.
He continued, "Now Derrick was my second born named after my mentor my oldest brother, this is truly coming from my heart for I'm a lost for words.I wanna thank my wife for picking up the floor cause I couldn't stand,I wanna thank my family for showing what we are about, next I would like thank my sons true friends in the industry for showing your support,& next I did not know the magnitude souls & hearts my son had reached until today,I wanna thank all the fans, friends & family that I just couldn't reach personally, thank y'all for everything."
