Eminem & Royce Da 5’9 Join Forces For A Great Cause

Bad Meets Evil are set to do some good as Eminem announces Royce Da 5’9’s new position at the Marshall Mathers Foundation.

Eminem and Royce Da 5’9″ have been friends and collaborators for many years, a relationship that dates back to the mid-nineties; as Royce explained on “Tabernacle,” he ended up meeting Em at a concert where the pair connected over a mutual appreciation skill. From there, the Detroit emcees went on to forge Bad Meets Evil, a duo that has amassed one album and many dope records to their name. And while the fans are still hopeful that they’ll gear up for another project before long, in the meantime, Em and Royce have come together for another purpose.

Eminem has recently announced that Royce Da 5’9″ will be joining the Marshall Mathers Foundation as Director Community Engagement and Social Justice Initiatives. “It’s a question everyone should be asking themselves right now,” reads a joint statement from Em and Royce. “How Can I do more? We both recognize that by working together to expand the Marshall Mathers Foundation’s mission, we CAN do more. And we can do it quickly, effectively, and with real impact.”

“I’m super excited about not just donating money but launching new initiatives,” writes Royce, in response to the announcement. “My goals are simple. Provide privilege for the underprivileged and I’m honored to team up with Eminem to do so.” Given how vocal Royce has been on the activism front, it’s not surprising that he’s landed this particular title. It will be interesting to see the initiatives he helps bring to the table, and even though it goes against their very name, it’s still cool to see Bad Meets Evil join forces to do some good in the world.
