With Halloween quickly approaching, the time has arrived for more time-tested MC Page Kennedy’s abrasive raps —courtesy his Straight Bars series.
The current host the DX Breakdown is simply out for blood with this latest traditional mixtape.
“Straight Bars has always been for the people that love to watch and hear freestyles,” Page tells DX. “No hooks. No gimmicks. No skits. But it’s never just always random bars. On this particular Straight Bars? I’ll tackle concepts, stories, and cultural relevance in the Straight Bar format. You looking at 30 minutes heat.”
When it comes to the aforestated “heat,” fans know they need look no further than each project’s posse cut. The second installment Straight Bars pitted the likes Cassidy and Crooked I over the same Nas “Made You Look” beat and his album Same Page, Different Story featured a nail biter with Royce Da 5’9, King Los and Mr. Porter.
Expect Straight Bars III to keep the group sessions thriving.
“The first single is my posse cut ‘Game Of Bars’ featuring Axel Leon, Daylyt, Che Noir, OT The Real, Fatt Father and D-12’s Kuniva,” Page continued. “It’s killer over the 50 Cent ‘Get The Strap’ beat.
