Drake Reps Nike Over Adidas on Travis Scott’s ‘Sicko Mode’

Drake is pledging his allegiance to Nike.

Despite a long-rumored deal with adidas, it seems that the 6 God is remaining true to his Nike and Jordan Brand family. On “Sicko Mode,” his new ASTROWORLD collaboration with Travis Scott, Drake raps about his preference for “checks over stripes,” an apparent reference to Nike’s swoosh over adidas’ three stripes.

“Nothin’ nice, yeah / Baguettes in my ice,” raps Drake. “Jesus Christ, checks over stripes, yeah / That’s what I like, that’s what we like.”

Travis also references his own Nike partnership on his verse: “Yeah, Jumpout Boys, that’s Nike Boys.”

Just days before the song’s release, Drake posted a photo a Nike jersey emblazoned with the OVO logo, hinting that his relationship with Nike was still in tact despite the adidas rumors. He is also seen wearing a pair Air Jordan 5s in the video for “In My Feelings.”

While it seems like Drake is staying on Team Nike, he was seen wearing adidas in the past. Pusha-T even claimed that Drake was going to name his new adidas line after his son. “Adonis is your son / And he deserves more than an adidas press run, that’s real,” raps Pusha on his “Story Adidon” diss.
