Pittsburgh artist DJ Afterthought has partnered with RiFF RAFF on a new mixtape, Cool Blue Jewels, that will be released on Feb. 9.
It’s not the first time this duo has collaborated in the studio—in October 2016 they released Balloween, and last January, they also got together on a smooth track, “Test Drive”, which gave fans some added heat from Wiz Khalifa on the hook.
DJ Afterthought tweeted that the project will be an opportunity for him to show f his chops, and that the MC has a verse or hook on every track.
He also hinted at big plans for the new year, tweeting: “I’m coming out hard on this album…… #notwaitinganymore2018”.
Cool Blue Jewels has a star-studded feature list, including Wiz Khalifa, Chevy Woods, Blackbear, Jimmy Wopo, Young Buck, and many more. It also includes a verse from the late Project Pat, and the surprising addition Gary Clark Jr, a blues musician out Austin, Texas.
It’s no surprise that RiFF RAFF and DJ Afterthought have found some time to get together in the studio, since the two are getting ready to go on the Four Loko sponsored Neon Black tour.
The rapper recently partnered with the drink company and appeared in an advertisement where he parties with a bevy brunettes and flashes his gold grills to promote Four Loko’s new gold flavor.
