Chris Rock Says Rihanna Put Him in the ‘Uncle Zone’

When Chris Rock settled his divorce in 2016, he decided to try his luck with Rihanna. The superstar songstress, however, had other ideas.

Speaking with “The Tonight Show,” Rock said RiRi didn’t even register him “as a sexual being.” Instead she viewed him “like I was one her aunts.”

“I thought, ‘Hey, I’m single now. Let me give it a go!’ And Rihanna…I mean…You ever not realize how old you are?” he said. “I couldn’t tell how old I was. Rihanna is so fine, if she didn’t sing, her life would be exactly the same. She’d have clothing lines, people would be asking for autographs.”

Rock’s notoriety didn’t seem to make a difference, he said. “That did not register at all,” he added. “She was like, ‘Have you seen Ray J?’ I was like, ‘Who’s Ray J? Fuck Ray J!’” Bad Gal even came to one his standup shows, but there was still no passion. “I was in the uncle zone,” he lamented.

Rock first opened up about his awkward Rihanna encounter on Tamborine, his latest standup special for Netflix. He is now starring alongside Adam Sandler in The Week Of.

RiRi continues building her empire too. Today, she revealed a launch date for her Savage x Fenty lingerie line, which is due May 11 through SavageX.com.
