Chris D’Elia Dropped By Talent Agency Following Underage Girls’ Allegations

Chris D’Elia has been dropped by his talent agency, CAA.

We’ve seen cancel culture come for any and every one, especially comedians who tend to push the edges what we deem “culturally acceptable,” and with every year, we see those edges narrow in further and further, thus resulting in more backlash for years bygone. Chris D’Elia faced the wrath the internet when a few his female, underaged fans decided to share their stories about not-okay interactions with the comedian.

D’Elia has been experiencing a growth in his career for awhile now, with a role in You (in which he played a pedophile, which is not helping his current situation), as well as his Eminem parody and resulting music video with the rapper. Now it appears much his career is crumbling beneath his feet in the wake these sexual misconduct allegations.

The comedian has already released a statement both denying and apologizing for any errant behaviour, but even so, his talent agency, CAA has decided to drop him, as per Variety. D’Elia’s statement read:

“I know I have said and done things that might have fended people during my career, but I have never knowingly pursued any underage women at any point. All my relationships have been both legal and consensual and I have never met or exchanged any inappropriate photos with the people who have tweeted about me. That being said, I really am truly sorry. I was a dumb guy who ABSOLUTELY let myself get caught up in my lifestyle. That’s MY fault. I own it. I’ve been reflecting on this for some time now and I promise I will continue to do better.”

D’Elia’s former co-host and fellow comedian, Whitney Cummings, issued a statement on D’Elia situation which you can read here.

We’ll keep you posted on new developments in this situation, as now D’Elia has remained mum across his social media channels, and he has not shared a new podcast episode since these accusations went viral.
