Cardi B Is Still Fran Drescher’s 1st Choice For The Potential "The Nanny" Reboot

Fran Drescher can sniff a real imposter from a fake one.

Back in October, Fran Drescher alluded to the fact that she’d been in contact with Cardi B‘s reps over a potential The Nanny reboot. There was talk the Bronx rapper would be ideal for the titular role, although nothing really came it publicly.

Fast forward to the present day, and Fran Drescher is still keeping hopes alive in the press. During a recent interview with Uproxx, the actress best known for playing the idiosyncratic character admitted that while chances a reboot remain slim, Cardi B is still the best option in sight.

“Well, that would be if we did the show all over again,” Drescher said. “I think she could be a good way to go for sure, but it’s not real today. It’s a good idea and something I definitely have on my radar.”

Think about it, The Nanny joined a family socialites who found her mannerisms jarring at first, but eventually grew to love her, to the point where the divorcee father even fell in love with Fran’s character.

The same can be said for Cardi B whose Bronx character traits stuck with her, as she rose to stardom. While chances a reboot remain slim, it doesn’t boil down to a lack public interest. “People seem to want it, yet this is not the time for it. I know that for sure,” she told Uproxx writer Kimberly Ricci. Would you rock with Cardi B as The Nanny, hit us with your thoughts?
