Bruno Mars Eyes New Tour Opener After Cardi B Backs Out

Bruno Mars is on the hunt for a new tourmate.

The superstar crooner is looking to fill the vacant opening slot on his upcoming “24K Magic World Tour” after Cardi B dropped out earlier this week. According to TMZ, there is currently no replacement for Cardi. As Friday (July 27), Bruno’s camp has reportedly been speaking with a number artists, but nothing has been locked in.

Before her unexpected cancelation, dancers had reportedly been hired, costumes made, and stage backdrops built, which has created some issues.

Cardi, who gave birth to daughter Kulture earlier this month, revealed that she wasn’t “mentally and physically” ready to hit the road. “As today I’ve decided I won’t be joining Bruno on tour this fall,” she wrote on social media. “I thought that after giving birth to my daughter that 6 weeks would be enough time for me to recover mentally and physically. I also thought that I’d be able to bring her with me on tour, but I think I underestimated this whole mommy thing.”

But Bruno was more than understanding the situation. “Most important thing is you and your family’s health,” he told Cardi. “I know the fans will understand. You are absolutely doing the right thing. I also know we’ll share the stage when the time is right. We love you Cardi and we will play ‘Bodak Yellow’ every night in your honor. Please give your baby girl a hug from me and a hug on behalf everyone on The 24K Magic Tour.”

Bruno Mars will kick f the final leg his “24K Magic World Tour” on Sept. 7 in Denver.
