A Wrinkle In Time: 5 Epic Books Turned Into Big Screen Blockbusters [Grab Free Screening Passes In Select Cities] –

I enjoy reading books. Every time you think books are going to fade away, they just keep hanging around. Whether the digital platform or just the good old-fashioned handheld. ‘A Wrinkle in Time’ drops next week. Always loved the idea traveling to different galaxies and how something like time travel can be spun into books and movies.

I loved this book when I was a kid. It was a fun fantasy novel, and my daughter is currently reading it now for school. I enjoy seeing some my favorite books turned into movies. In fact, ‘A Wrinkle in Time’ has inspired me to think about some the best film adaptations books. Here’s my top 5 favorite books turned into movies.

1. Harry Potter Series

These books were already a HUGE success before they were adapted to the big screen. Harry Potter introduced us to one the greatest villains in the history both film and novel. The creativity behind it was for younger kids to read these books and grow up with them. Each time the books/movies became darker and relatable. One the best series i’ve had to pleasure reading and seeing.

2. The Lord the Rings Trilogy

This film franchise was probably the best adapted from book to the big screen. Granted the extended editions were pretty much the books. This is one those series that you could be snowed in and just have an all day marathon watching the movies. I read these books in high school, and my good friend who happens to be big on this site still gives me sh*t over it. (Yeah Cyrus, i didn’t forget) They’re entertaining to anyone who enjoys medieval fantasy.

3. Fight Club

Two my favorite actors playing the same character. Yeah, this one was a book. I forgot about this one being a book as well. This is the one that showed us how good Edward Norton and Brad Pitt are in their craft. This is one great cult classics in cinema history. Everything from the story, to the dialogue, and character interactions. This one I didn’t read, but now I have that reminder it was a book, i’ll be looking it up for sure. Tyler Durden was one my heroes for a while.

4. The Godfather

Mario Putzo’s The Godfather is probably the greatest gangster story all time. (Fight me on it) The Corleone family set the tone for the hit HBO series The Sopranos. Al Pacino bursted on the scene with this one. I’m getting all caught up just trying to type this out because i’m all excited to write about it. This book translated so well the screen. Everything about it was just great, from the characters to the story, to the loyalty involved in family, unless you cross Michael. Don’t cross Michael.

5. Jurassic Park

One the single greatest movies all time. Notice I didn’t say, film series. The first ‘Jurassic Park’ was nothing short spectacular. This is probably the only instance where I firmly believe the movie outshined the book. Just the idea behind it, and the special effects were nothing we had seen at the time in the 90’s. I can go on for a long time about this one, but for the sake space, from really good book by a good author, to an all time great movie with an all time great director. Sometime things just line up and turn to gold. This was one them.

‘A Wrinkle in Time’ has to potential to do great things next week. The cast is solid in name alone. Fans fantasy should be in for a treat. I am really curious to see how this one stacks up with the rest the book turned movie field. Hoping I can make time to read it again before I see the movie, but regardless this one should be a good one for the family to enjoy together. Make sure to get out and support, my family will be for sure.
