A Tribe Called Quest & Mary J. Blige To Be Inducted In The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame has announced the inductees for 2024 and A Tribe Called Quest and Mary J. Blige are among the acts for the proteaginous honor.

Nominated three times, ATCQ, consisting of members Q-Tip, Jarobi White, Ali Shaheed Muhammad and the late Phife Dawg, have released six critically-acclaimed albums in the span of three decades. Their last album, We got it from Here… Thank You 4 Your Service debuting at No. 1 in 2016. Phife Dawg passed away earlier in the year.

Dubbed the Queen of Hip Hop & Soul, Mary J. Blige will finally take her well-deserved seat at the museum. Since the early /90’s, the iconic R&B singer has released fourteen studio albums from her What’s the 411 in 1992 to 2022’s Good Morning Gorgeous.

A Tribe Called Quest will become the 12th hip hop act to join The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. They proceed Missy (2023), Eminem (2022), JAY-Z (2021) LL Cool J (2021), The Notorious B.I.G. (2020), Tupac Shakur (2017), N.W.A. (2016), Public Enemy (2012), Beastie Boys (2012), Run DMC (2009), and Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five (2007).

ATCQ and MJB will join their fellow nominees Cher, Ozzy Osbourne, Dionne Warwick, Kool & The Gang, Frampton, Foreigner, The Dave Matthews Band, and more. The ceremony takes place at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio on October 19.
