Mac Miller Announces New Album ‘Swimming’

Mac Miller is ready to dive in.

The Pittsburgh rapper has announced his fifth studio album Swimming, which is set to arrive on Aug. 3. He shared the title and release date in a video trailer, which is soundtracked by a new song.

“I got neighbors, they’re more like strangers / We could be friends,” he sings. “I just need a way out my end / I’ll do anything for a way out my end.”

Swimming marks Miller’s first album since 2016’s The Divine Feminine, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200.

In May, he dropped a trio tracks, including “Small Worlds,” “Buttons,” and “Programs.”

Miller should have a lot to talk about on his new project. His personal life has been in the headlines, including his May arrest for a DUI and hit-and-run and high-prile breakup with Ariana Grande.

Following their split, the pop songstress called their relationship “toxic.” “I have cared for him and tried to support his sobriety & prayed for his balance for years (and always will course) but shaming/blaming women for a man’s inability to keep his s–t together is a very major problem,” she wrote.
