Amazon Music has announced the Vince Staples: A Walk Through Ramona Park livestream.
The one-night-only live performance will be live from The Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles on August 23. The performance is sponsored by Coca-Cola’s new digital platform, Coke Studio. Vince Staples will take the audience on a retrospective through his library of work with a performance of over 30 songs. Staples will look back on some of his earliest songs through his most recent critically acclaimed albums, Vince Staples and Ramona Park Broke My Heart.
The 90-minute show will also feature personal anecdotes and stories from his career that is sure to give fans an exclusive look into his journey and a one-of-a-kind experience. Staples released Ramona Park Broke My Heart in 2021 as a tribute to the Ramona Park neighborhood in Long Beach where he grew up. That follows Staples’ critically acclaimed self-titled LP that welcomed fans into his hometown in addition to introducing personal friends and family.
Fans of Vince Staples can tune-in to the livestream on August 23 at 8 pm via the Amazon Music mobile app, Prime Video, or the Amazon Music channel on Twitch.
It’s also been revealed that Vince Staples is joining the cast of a couple of high-profile projects. The first project is joining the cast of the new White Men Can’t Jump movie, which already includes Jack Harlow. Variety also reports that Showtime has tapped Staples to join the main cast of comedy pilot, The Wood.
Staples is set to star as Jamal, an aspiring photographer from Ladera Heights who has been cut off by his upper-class family when he decided to follow his own path instead of attending the historic Morehouse College. Variety notes, “The show is describes as an honest look at friendship and dating from the perspective of three young Black males born and raised in the gentrifying LA suburb of Inglewood. The trio’s struggles to balance fatherhood, ambition, and loyalty force them to question if they are growing apart, or closer together.”
