Rayshard Brooks’ Widow Gifted New Car, Life Insurance & Scholarships For Kids

Tomika Miller, the widow Rayshard Brooks who was shot dead by Atlanta police last weekend, was gifted a new car, life insurance, and college tuition for her kids.

Tomika Miller and her kids were blessed with some generous gifts from some local Atlanta dining establishments after her husband, Rayshard Brooks, was shot and killed by Atlanta police last weekend. On Friday (June 19th), Tomika was surprised with a brand new car, as well as life insurance and full rides to Clark Atlanta University for her three kids, 8-year-old Blessing, 2-year-old Memory and 1-year-old Dream. Tomika’s already picked up the keys for her new ride, a Ford Escape paid in full, from her lawyer L. Chris Stewart’s firm. Two Atlanta restauranteurs—Slutty Vegan owner Pinky Cole and Big Dave’s Cheesesteaks owner Derrick Hayes—combined their funds to pay for everything, a gesture that had Tomika in tears.

Late at night on June 12th, Rayshard was fatally shot in the back by ficer Garrett Rolfe after he was found sleeping in his car in a Wendy’s parking lot. Rolfe has since been fired and arrested, and is now facing eleven charges in total, including felony murder, criminal damage to property, violations to his oath fice, and aggravated assault charges. It was also discovered that Rolfe has a long history misconduct complaints. He and the other cop involved, Devin Brosnan, later turned themselves in for the crime.

RIP Rayshard Brooks.
