Today marks the loss one Hollywood’s greats as we sadly report that John Singleton will be taken f life support today after suffering a stroke that put him in a coma just over a week ago. “It is with heavy hearts we announce that our beloved son, father and friend, John Daniel Singleton will be taken f life support today. This was an agonizing decision, one that our family made, over a number days, with the careful counsel John’s doctors,” the family said in a statement, according to TMZ.
John’s family detailed further how the beloved director “quietly struggled with hypertension,” a form high blood pressure that affects 40% African American men and women. The statement urged everyone to learn more about the symptoms and how to recognize if you too have the condition.

Before the sad announcement, John’s daughter Cleopatra was reportedly fighting to get another family named as temporary conservator for John’s assets, over his mother Sheila Ward. Cleopatra stated that Sheila had ill intentions when it came it her son’s estate, detailing how she planned to liquidate his assets. At the time, John’s daughter was stating that her father was holding up and making a comeback but it seems a though things have taken a drastic turn resulting in the end life support.
We can only hope the family is holding up during this difficult time.
