New York Jets Unveil New Uniforms: Twitter Reacts

Jets’ new uniforms draw mixed reactions.

After months teasing the grand unveiling, the New York Jets finally introduced their new uniforms Thursday night at a special event in New York City.

The team’s new helmet and trio Nike-designed uniforms are highlighted by an all-new “Gotham Green” shade, developed exclusively for the J-E-T-S, who last changed uniforms in 1998.

The “Gotham Green,” “Spotlight White,” and “Stealth Black” uniforms all feature “New York” across the chest, as well as a linear design, inspired by a jet’s flight trail, that runs across the shoulders and down the pant legs.

“It’s just a different swagger,” said Pro Bowl safety Jamal Adams (H/T ESPN). “It’s something this team needed. Obviously, the past years haven’t been going well. To have something new, a fresh start, I think it’s just what we needed.”

The helmet design and logo is inspired by the one worn by Jets players from 1978 to 1997, minus the jet-themed lettering.

As a Jets fan, the change is welcomed and it coincides with the team’s fresh start as they move forward with a young franchise quarterback, Pro Bowl caliber fensive weapons and a stingy defense that includes Jamal Adams and recent free agent signee, CJ Mosley.

Of course, twitter had plenty to say about the uniform reveal, as is tradition. Check out the mix reactions below and let us know what you think Gang Green’s new digs.
