Los Angeles, CA – Tribute efforts in honor the late Nipsey Hussle have poured in from numerous prominent figures over the past few days. Dave East organized a vigil in New York, LAPD chief Michel Moore remarked on Hussle’s leadership in a recent press conference, and now, YG has elected to push back the release his surprise album in honor his friend.
In a tweet posted on Wednesday (April 3), the Stay Dangerous rapper revealed he could not continue with the release his surprise album this month in order to deal with the loss Nip.
“I was dropping a Surprise album April 12th But man. Now that we gotta deal with Big bro goin to heaven I will not drop the album this month,” he wrote. “Pushing it to May, Sorry! LONG LIVE @NipseyHussle my brother from the other color!”

Nip and the “Big Bank” rapper collaborated on numerous occasions over the years, giving us several anthems including the infamous “FDT (Fuck Donald Trump)” and the Victory Lap banger “Last Time That I Checc’d.” He posted two sincere tributes to his frequent collaborator on his Instagram account Wednesday remarking on his “big bro” and all the plans they had together.
“Lost for words kuz I got so many em. We went thru so much shit together tryna make it out LA with this rap shit, But we always got thru it then talked about it & after we talked. We laughed! You was a real big bro to me no kap,” he began in the caption a throwback picture Nip embracing him.
“YOU 1 OF A KIND! I took so long to post you kuz I Kant believe this shit, I don’t wanna believe this shit. I’m not never accepting it.IDGAF what nobody say. It wasn’t yo time to go — I’m lost homie. We had so much shit in the works. He followed up with a heartwarming picture Nip holding his daughter.
