New York rapper 50 Cent can’t really take all the credit for turning “get the strap” into a legit viral catchphrase. The hip-hop veteran has saluted “Power” creator Courtney Kemp for birthing the expression.
Fif went to Instagram Tuesday (June 12) and revealed Kemp’s writing for his on-screen character Kanan spawned “get the strap.”
A few days ago, 50 showed fans just how popular his “get the strap” expression had become.
Last week, “Power” actress Naturi Naughton shared footage Fif telling the cast to get the strap.
Over the past few weeks, hip-hop artists like Young M.A and Hell Rell have found inspiration from 50 Cent’s now-epic line.
