Wu-Tang Clan Declares Gaming Is "Now One Of The Elements Of Hip Hop"

Wu-Tang Clan have always been innovators. Since exploding on the scene in the early ’90s, Method Man, Ghostface Killah, GZA, RZA and the rest the crew have become bona fide Hip Hop gods.

So, when the Wu’s verified Twitter account announces an amendment to the elements Hip Hop, people will likely listen. On Thursday (July 12), Wu-Tang tweeted that gaming has been added to list MCing, DJing, graffiti writing, breaking and — depending on who you ask — knowledge.

“Gaming is now one the elements Hip Hop,” the tweet read. “That’s right. You heard it here first. #WuTang.”

The tweet came with two photos a Wu-Tang logo controller and the Playstation game, Wu-Tang: Shaolin Style, which was released in 1999.

According to Amazon, only one unopened copy Wu-Tang: Shaolin Style is currently available at a bargain price $120, although there are several used copies for sale.

The nearly 20-year-old video game was based on Wu-Tang’s stage personas and set to the legendary group’s martial arts-themed music.
