In the U.S. and abroad, people are demonstrating their desire for more gun safety at March for Our Lives rallies taking place all over the globe. The centerpiece event is going down today (March 24) in Washington, D.C., where Vic Mensa and Common performed.
Vic fittingly performed his oppression-opposing song "Now We Could Be Free," kicking f the set with a dedication. "This song is dedicated to Stephon Clark, Decynthia Clements and all the unarmed Black men and women killed by police weapons," he said, before launching into the track. "Until all us are free, none us will be free."
With the help some school kids and an orchestra, Common teamed up with Andra Day and performed their duet "Stand Up for Something," f the Marshall soundtrack.
Vic and Common weren't the only hip-hop artists to show up. Kanye West was also in the place to be. 'Ye was spotted at the event with his wife Kim Kardashian and daughter North. Kim posted a picture the special moment on social media, uploading a photo 'Ye and North embracing. "I’m so happy I got to share this moment with these two ❤️❤️." she captioned the pic on Twitter. "I hope North remembers this forever."
