Tyrese Admits His Public Feud With The Rock Was "Not Professional"

Tyrese was a recent guest on Van Lathan’s podcast, The Red Pill, where he opened up about his public feud with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson last September. The Fast & Furious star admits he hasn’t talked to his co-star since and takes culpability for his role in the rift.

“I found myself being the messenger on behalf various people associated to the franchise, but stupid me was the only one who went public about those feelings, which is my own fault,” he says around the 23-minute mark. “It’s not pressional, it’s not cool.”

He adds, “I have yet to talk to The Rock to this day, and we will have a conversation.”

Tyrese was evidently upset that Johnson was getting his own Fast & Furious spin-f film, which would be released before Fast & Furious 9. He accused Johnson “breaking up” the Fast & Furious family.

During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live last week, Johnson didn’t appear to share the same sentiments about a reconciliation.

According to E! News, when a caller asked if he’d spoken to Tyrese since the feud, he replied, “Great question, and the answer is no, no, we haven’t talked at all. That whole thing with Tyrese, it was pretty disappointing because I’ve been friends with Tyrese for a very long time.

“To me, there’s no need to have a conversation.”

Elsewhere in the discussion with Lathan, Tyrese explains what led to his perceived meltdown on social media and praises Will Smith for being the “most positive beautiful soul ever.”

During his tirade, Tyrese dragged Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith into the madness by claiming the famous couple had donated $5 million to help with Tyrese’s legal fees. The Smiths denied it.
