Trouble Thinks A Lot of Music Coming Out of Atlanta Now Is Trash

Atlanta might be home to some the world's most popular rappers, but that doesn't mean everyone's a fan—not even rappers hailing from the famed city. Case in point, Atlanta rapper Trouble, who made it clear that he's not a fan a lot music coming from the A during a Wednesday (April 11) appearance on Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club.

Responding to a question The Breakfast Club show host Charlamagne Tha God asked Mike Will Made-It, the "Real Is Rare" rapper made his feelings known about the music coming out ATL. "Shit trash," Trouble told everyone on the show just about 10 minutes after listing OutKast and "Old Tip" as being the Atlanta rappers he still listens to. If you're a diehard fan Atlanta's rap scene, there are definitely some conspicuous omissions there, and it looks like that wasn't an accident.

Of course, Trouble's feelings are a bit more deeper than that, and he's made some exceptions. "I fuck with a lotta music, period," he tells Charlamagne when pressed again about whether or not he likes music from the A. "Atlanta ain't really much niggas that really talking ’bout not nothing. Couple dudes have club songs and all that shit, but I don't really fuck with none that shit."

A few moments later, Charlamagne mentions 21 Savage as a rapper who spits about substantive stuff. Trouble simply stares at him blankly before going on to give props to Atlanta rappers he respects—namely YFN Lucci.

"Lucci be making some good music, goddamn, I fuck with Yung Bleu, shawty hard to me, know what I'm saying? He be saying some different shit in his songs," Trouble continues before adding that 21's got some club records he likes. For what it's worth, he lists Tupac Shakur, Boosie BadAzz and DMX as rappers he listens to regularly, among some others. He also says it was T.I. who created trap music, saying that Gucci Mane did his thing with the genre afterwards.

For his part, Mike Will, who's produced hits for some the ATL's biggest rap stars, makes it a point to say he respects every artist coming out Atlanta. Trouble is his favorite, though

"I feel like Trouble my favorite rapper, you know what I'm saying, like, coming out the city right now, know what I'm saying?" says Mike Will, expressing an opinion that's quite different from that Trouble. "I respect everybody. I fuck with Young Thug's music. I fuck with Future's music, I fuck with everybody coming out. We all came up together."

As for additional ATL rappers Mike Will's fond , he lists Key! as being one his favorites. Word.
