The Weeknd ‘Call Out My Name’

The Weeknd’s visuals keep coming. After two Spotify clips and a short film, Abel Tesfaye unleashes a music video for “Call Out My Name” f his chart-topping EP My Dear Melancholy,

Directed by frequent The Weeknd collaborator Grant Singer, “Call Out My Name” has brooding film-like tones. Abel walks around a city at blue hour, while his melancholy single soundtracks his moves.

Special effects dazzle throughout the haunting visual, which was partially shot in Taft, Calif. Bats fly out Abel’s mouth, birds freeze in flight, fire burns through a mystical forest, and mysterious alien-like creatures pop up throughout.

All the while, The Weeknd’s vocals add depth to the stunning clip. “We found each other I helped you out a broken place,” he sings over Frank Dukes’ production. “You gave me comfort But falling for you was my mistake.”

The Weeknd will bring his new music to the desert when he headlines Coachella on Friday (April 13).
