Prince Jackson Has Surprising Words About The Deaths Of Alton Sterling & Philando Castile

Social media has turned into the live news this week following the shooting deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, who were senselessly killed by police officers.

Many celebrities have spoken out against police brutality and racism, but some are getting slammed for their stance, including Michael Jackson‘s son Prince Jackson.

The eldest childΒ of the late star used the hashtag #AllLivesMatter while addressing the killings of the two Black men who were murdered within a day of each other by police – and of course, social media went off.

Prince tweeted:

Because the one group of people who are tasked(and payed) for our protection are shooting our brothers and sisters.

That's not to say all cops are brutal racists, that's not the case, but there are a significant few who have ruined the lives of many

Everyone need to look in the mirror and start the change there because it's not just black lives that matter it's all lives.

Something must be done. ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽✊🏼✊🏻🌎🌍🌏#AllLivesMatter #ManintheMirror

After being slandered on Twitter for almost two hours, Prince hopped back on to clarify his statements:

If there is some confusion let me correct myself. Black lives do matter and unfortunately are being wrongfully executed

— Prince Jackson (@princemjjjaxon) July 7, 2016

But to focus on one race excludes other races. I was raised by the world and know how different races are prosecuted.

I understand that you want to focus on #blacklivesmatter but why only focus on one life that matters when all do?

Although Prince says he “cried when I saw #AltonSterling son cry because I [know] what it’s like to have a father taken,” he says that he stands by his statement that all lives do matter.
