Pouya's Pitch for 2018 Freshman

Before the 2018 XXL Freshman class will be revealed this summer, the Freshman hopefuls are here to show and prove why they deserve a spot in this year’s class. The 10th Spot voting has ficially launched, which means hip-hop's rising newcomers are vying for a spot on the 2018 XXL Freshman cover.

Miami's own Pouya has truly built his name up through the underground, leaning on a mix his rapid-fire flows and vulnerability. In 2017, he released Drop Out School, a collaborative album with his longtime friend Fat Nick. Their single "Middle the Mall" has nearly 6 million plays on SoundCloud, but Pouya reached even bigger heights with his Ghostemane collab "1000 Rounds," which has 9 million SoundCloud plays. With the success his recent album Five Five, Pouya's career has been a lesson in being true to yourself.

Now that you've watched his pitch below, it's time to vote. The 2018 XXL Freshman 10th Spot will run for one week. This is where the public gets the chance to vote an artist into the XXL Freshman Class. Go here to make your vote count for your favorite artist.
