Post Malone’s ‘beerbongs & bentleys’ Is Already Platinum

Post Malone’s beerbongs & bentleys hasn’t even been out for a full week, but it’s already platinum.

The rapper’s sophomore album earned the RIAA certification through a systematic technicality. b&b surpassed the million units marker through previously-released singles alone, according to HITS Daily Double.

That means “rockstar” (with 21 Savage), “Psycho” (featuring Ty Dolla $ign), and “Candy Paint” combined for more than 1 billion tracks and 1.7 million track sales. Including 450 million video streams, the total reaches 1.1 million units.

This is becoming more and more common. Earlier this month, Cardi B’s Invasion Privacy was also eligible for a gold plaque upon its release. That certification was based on “Bodak Yellow” and the 21 Savage-assisted “Bartier Cardi.” Drake’s Scorpion won’t come out until June, but it’s also already eligible for a gold plaque, according to Chart Data.

Posty’s streaming success will likely continue. The new LP features high-prile collaborations with Swae Lee, Nicki Minaj, G-Eazy, and YG. It is expected to debut atop the Billboard 200 with multiple Hot 100 entries. Meanwhile, White Iverson is currently on a North American tour with 21 Savage, which runs through June 24 in San Francisco.
