Paris Jackson, daughter the late pop icon Michael Jackson, is making her Vogue cover debut — with an interview conducted over text message. For Vogue Australia's July 2017 issue, the 19-year-old model and actress discusses her burgeoning career in modeling and acting and how she plans to use her fame to leave a “positive imprint” on the fashion world.
“I already have many young girls looking up to me and I want to be something their parents are OK with them looking up to,” Jackson tells the magazine's creative director at large, Alison Veness.
Paris announced the cover in an Instagram post, expressing gratitude for “one the first interviews where my words haven't been twisted.” The star previously graced covers at Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone and Harper's Bazaar — the last which Paris accused betraying a promise not to headline-highlight her father's memory.
Paris splashed onto the fashion scene this year, signing with IMG models in March, the same month she made her Met Gala debut. In May, she landed her first feature film role with Amazon Studios, and inked a seven-figure deal with Calvin Klein.
For Paris' Vogue Australia issue, available June 26, the cover photo shoot was captured by Patrick Demarchelier and styled by Christine Centenera — the same stylist behind Kanye West's Yeezy runway shows.
