Ahead her upcoming album Sex & Cigarettes, Toni Braxton unleashes the evocative title track.
Over a piano-laden instrumental, the soulful Braxton scorches her man for being shamelessly unfaithful. “You make me crazy,” she sings. “I swear you act like you hate me / How can you tell me ‘I love you’ / Then do the things you do?”
With pain in her voice, Toni goes on to deliver stinging line after stinging line to her cheating man. “At least try and lie to me,” she begs. “Instead, you come straight to our bed / Smelling like sex and cigarettes.”
The title track arrives after Braxton confirmed her engagement to Birdman. It also follows previous singles “Deadwood” and “Long As I Live.” All three are expected to land on her forthcoming album, Sex & Cigarettes, which is due March 23.
