New Music: Mary J. Blige ‘Only Love’

Mary J. Blige is putting her love on top.

After a public and painful divorce, the Queen Hip-Hop Soul leaves the drama behind on her new single “Only Love.” The soulful disco jam, produced by Pop & Oak, finds the R&B icon celebrating love over a dance floor-ready beat.

“Took me a while, but I’m looking up ’cause I know you love me too,” she sings. “‘Cause you came right in and you brought me home / I ain’t never felt this feeling, oooh, I’m in.”

A joyful Mary, who headlined last weekend’s ESSENCE Festival, seems to be in a good place following her divorce from Kendu Isaacs. “Only love can save the day,” she adds.

“Only Love” was released Republic Records. Mary was previously signed to Capitol Records, where she released 2017’s Strength a Woman and 2014’s The London Sessions.
