Lil Dicky and Chris Brown swap lives for a day in the hilarious, star-studded video for their “Freaky Friday” collaboration.
Inspired by the fantasy-comedy classic that’s been remade multiple times, “Freaky Friday” imagines what life would be like if Breezy and Dicky changed lives. The results are humorous.
Dicky wakes up as Chris, in a bed with two women, before walking around his mansion. He celebrates his new penis, his tattoos, and is surprised to have a kid. “I woke up in Chris Brown’s body,” Brown sings, from Dicky’s perspective. “So high, this shit turned into Freaky Friday.”
Dicky, meanwhile, wakes up as Breezy. “Walking down the street and ain’t nobody know my name,” he raps, while taking on Chris’ perspective. “Ain’t no paparazzi flashing pictures, this is great / Ain’t nobody judging ’cause I’m black / Or my controversial past.”
Eventually, they meet up with one another and magically turn into themselves again. Soon, they’re breaking into a dance routine, before Dicky swaps lives with other celebrities, including Ed Sheeran, DJ Khaled, and Kendall Jenner.
“I’m Kendall Jenner,” sings the reality television star-turned model, from Dicky’s point view. “I got a vagina! I’m gonna explore that right now. Holy shit, I got a vagina. I’m gonna learn. I’m gonna understand the inner workings a woman.”
Prior to releasing the video, Dicky called it “the best work” his life: “THE BEST MUSIC VIDEO YOU’VE EVER SEEN. THE SONG IS A SMASH. THIS IS WHAT WE’VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR. I WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN. Dickheads, this is our time to shine. It’s all led to this.”
The DJ Mustard-produced “Freaky Friday” is the lead single f Dicky’s next album, the follow-up to 2015’s Pressional Rapper.
