Jhené Aiko and Big Sean are refuting rumors about infidelity and an alleged love triangle with Nicole Scherzinger.
Social media was abuzz on Monday (March 12) after reports that the Detroit rapper cheated with the former Pussycat Doll at an Oscars after-party, according to The Jasmine Brand. Memes quickly sprouted and Jhené reportedly unfollowed Sean on Instagram, but as Tuesday (March 13), she was following him again.
After their alleged affair made headlines, Aiko shut them down. “sorry,” she tweeted. “but nothing about you guy’s fan fiction stories are true… I still love you tho 😘.” She added: “the internet is a wild place…it’s a whole other reality. bless the internet. amen.”
Sean quoted one his girlfriend’s tweets and added a series clapping emojis, but that didn’t stop additional memes from popping up.
Sean and Aiko debuted their TWENTY88 joint project in March 2016. They went public with their relationship as Jhené was divorcing Dot Da Genius that same year.
The new relationship became so serious that Aiko tattooed Sean’s portrait on her arm in October last year. As February this year, Penny revealed that the two were still going strong.
Aiko is coming f her Trip release, while Sean is currently in a “deep creative space,” working on his next album. Both have also teased another joint album, the sequel to 2016’s TWENTY88.
