Roskilde, Denmark – Del The Funky Homosapien suffered a scare over the weekend when he fell f the stage during a performance at the 2018 Roskilde Festival.
The veteran MC had to be taken to a Denmark hospital after the accident, which occurred when joined Damon Albarn’s Gorillaz on stage for a performance their hit single “Clint Eastwood.” The group cut their set short following the incident, with Albarn thanking the crowd after checking on Del.
The Roskilde Festival issued a statement about the situation on Saturday (July 7).
“He was seen on site by a doctor and went to the hospital for further investigation,” it reads, according to a translation. “He’s conscious and talking to his team. We hope he recovers quickly and wishes him a speedy recovery.”
Del was able to provide an update on his health status in an Instagram post on Sunday morning (July 8).
“Thank you all for the love!” he wrote. “I’m doing alright but will be in the hospital for a bit, the care here is outstanding though. Much love to @gorillaz for having me out and I’ll be back soon yall.”
