It may only be April, but Cardi B is already smashing records like she did all throughout 2017.
On Friday (April 13), Apple announced that Cardi B's debut album, Invasion Privacy, broke the Apple Music record for the most streamed album by a female artist in one week. According to Apple's numbers, the project earned more than 100 million streams worldwide, shattering the previous record that was held by Taylor Swift's Reputation, Billboard reports.
Not only did Cardi shatter the record, she broke it by mid-week when Invasion Privacy had already received more than double the streams Swift's album. The "Be Careful" rapper's project currently sits in the No. 5 spot on Apple Music's worldwide chart most streamed albums.
Along with breaking an Apple Music record, Cardi's debut album has already been certified gold thanks to a technicality involving the song "Bodak Yellow." According to a report from Forbes, since the song, which is featured on Invasion Privacy, went five times platinum, that equals 500,000 units for the album.
Released on April 6, Bardi's long-awaited debut features a total 13 tracks and includes guest appearances from Kehlani, Chance The Rapper, YG, SZA, 21 Savage, Migos, Bad Bunny, J Balvin and more.
Up next for the rapper, she will be taking the stage at Coachella on Sunday (April 15). Cardi recently revealed that she will be paid $70,000 per day for her performance at the festival but may actually end up losing money after investing $300,000 into her stage set.
