Ariana Grande Drops ‘Raindrops’ Video

To celebrate her 25th birthday, Ariana Grande surprises fans with a special gift. The pop songstress debuts “Raindrops,” the intro to her upcoming album Sweetener.

The accompanying 30-second clip was once again directed by Dave Meyers, who helmed the visuals for “No Tears Left to Cry” and “The Light Is Coming.” A blonde Ariana sits on an infinite staircase while belting out the emotional track.

“When raindrops fell down from the sky / The day you left me, an angel cried,” she sings, a possible reference to the terrorist bombing outside her Manchester concert where 23 people died.

In honor her birthday, Grande’s fiancé Pete Davidson posted a sweet tribute to her on Instagram. “happy birthday to the most precious angel on earth!” he captioned a photo them. “you’re my favorite person that ever existed 🙂 i love you sm.”

Grande is now gearing up to release her fourth studio album Sweetener on Aug. 17 featuring Nicki Minaj, Missy Elliott, and Pharrell.
